what anchors the modelled litres to reality
Trip register
one row per recorded run · fuel measured where a tank was filled
Per trip
where the energy went, and what the litres did
Recording a trip
the whole mechanism
A trip is stored as a time window, not a copy of the data.
Add a row to TRIP_LOG in vaayu-fuel.js and this page replays that
window from the channels, models it, and folds it into the summary. Nothing is duplicated,
so a trip recorded months ago still reflects whatever the channel holds.
Only the first four fields are needed to get a modelled figure.
Fill in litres whenever you brim the tank at both
ends of a run — that is what turns a trip into a calibration point, and every recorded
fill tightens every other trip on this page.
How these numbers are produced
Measured
- Speed and position, channel 1
- Pressure per axle, channel 2 — sets rolling resistance
- Litres at the pump, where a tank was brimmed
Trip record
- Date and the IST window driven
- Trip-meter reading, if noted
- Occupants, and whether the A/C was running
- Minutes the engine was switched off at a halt
Modelled
- Tractive energy: rolling, aero, gradient, acceleration
- Litres burned, and the propulsion / idle / overrun split
- Economy, and the efficiency solved from measured fills
